The central event of the Philippine-Russian Business Forum (PRBF) 2010 was the opening of a monument to the great Russian writer Leo Tolstoy, which took place on October 21, 2010 in Mandau (Cebu, Philippines). The author of the monument gave it to the Philippines in memory of the 100-th anniversary of the writer’s death. The monument was erected near the modern building, which was built for holding international forums. The place where the bust of Leo Tolstoy is installed is placed on a high pedestal made from green stone. The monument fits perfectly in the environment, is proportional to the pedestal. The official opening ceremony of the monument to Leo Tolstoy was attended by Governor of Cebu Province Gwen Garcia, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Philippines N.R. Kudashev, official representatives of the government of the Philippines.
